By deploying AWS WAF in CloudFront, one of AWS CDN services, you can prevent DDoS attacks from reaching your web server directly, or mitigate L7 layer DDoS attacks with Rate-Limit(AWS WAF Rated-based) Rule.

However, L3, L4 layer DDoS attacks may require additional solutions or might require you to switch to an integrated solution that prevents L3, L4 layer DDos attacks as well as others.
